It depends on what has failed. Surface wear, fretting and fine crazing are surface problems and suit resurfacing. Isolated potholes suit cut-out repairs. Cracks that reopen after patching, areas that flex under a vehicle or water that never clears point to a failed base or drainage, and those need rebuilding — resurfacing over them buys a couple of winters at most.
As a guide, fully installed tarmac work generally runs from around £35 to £85 per square metre. Overlays on a sound base sit at the lower end; full excavation with a new sub-base, edgings and drainage sits at the top. Larger areas cost less per square metre because plant, delivery and mobilisation are much the same whatever the size.
Yes. Most commercial jobs are phased in sections with barriers and pedestrian routes set out before each phase starts, and evening, weekend or holiday-period working is often the least disruptive option. The line is answered 24/7 for reactive work.
Typically 24 to 48 hours for vehicles, depending on material, depth and weather. Foot traffic is usually fine sooner. We tell you the figure for your job before we leave site.
