Cooper Jackson Surfacing is a nationwide surfacing contractor. We lay and repair tarmac and asphalt on car parks, service yards, access and estate roads, industrial hardstandings, footpaths and driveways, together with the groundworks, drainage and kerbing that sit underneath them.
The business is a VCNY Group Limited owned company, registered in England and Wales under company number 12624177, with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ. Being part of a wider group means larger schemes can draw on related trades — civil engineering, line marking, anti-skid coatings and specialist cleaning — without bringing in unknown subcontractors.
28+ years of surfacing experience
Our experience is in commercial settings, which is a different discipline from domestic work. On a live site the surfacing has to happen around deliveries, trading hours, staff parking and pedestrian routes. That shapes how we survey, how we phase and how we programme, and it is the reason most of our work comes from organisations responsible for a site rather than from one-off enquiries.
We still take domestic driveways. The same standards apply — the same excavation, the same compacted sub-base, the same attention to where the water goes.
Our crews and plant
We operate with our own in-house teams and plant, working from depots across the UK. Directly employed crews mean the people on your site are the people we are accountable for, and owning the plant means a job is not delayed waiting on hire availability.
Machine-laying is used wherever a paver can reach; hand-laying is for small areas, awkward edges and sites a machine cannot get to. Where a scheme needs planing, excavation, drainage or kerbing, that is carried out by the same team rather than passed on.
[Add detail once confirmed: number of gangs you can run at once, depot locations, and the main plant you own — pavers, rollers, planers, excavators, tippers.]
Planned and reactive work, 24/7
The line is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including nights, weekends and bank holidays. That matters in two situations: a surface defect that has become a safety or liability problem and cannot wait, and a site that can only be worked on out of hours. We cover both planned programmes and reactive call-outs, nationwide.
How we quote
Surveys are free. Quotes state the build-up — depths, materials, preparation, drainage, edgings and what is excluded — so you can compare two prices on the same basis rather than on the headline figure. Most surfacing that fails early does so because of what was left out of the price, not because of the material laid on top.
If a repair is the better answer than a resurface, that is what we will recommend. If an overlay will crack through within two winters because the base has gone, we will say so before taking the order.
Accreditations, insurance and compliance
We hold the relevant accreditations and insurances for the work we carry out, and can provide certificates, risk assessments and method statements at enquiry stage rather than after an order.
- Accreditations: [List schemes and membership numbers — CHAS, Constructionline, SSIP, SafeContractor, ISO, NHSS 12]
- Public liability: [limit]
- Employers' liability: [limit]
- Operative cards and training: [CSCS, CPCS, NRSWA, SMSTS, first aid]
Only current, verifiable accreditations appear here. Nothing lapsed and nothing aspirational.
Where we work
Our crews work UK-wide, with the heaviest coverage across England. Recent projects run from Bolton and Sheffield to Stevenage, Oxford, Hertfordshire and Swansea — a genuinely national footprint rather than a claimed one. Distance affects mobilisation cost, not whether we will attend: send a postcode and you will get a straight answer.
